GPS presents Sub One (Point Blank, Family Grooves) Bosnia&Herzegovina

Sub One  is a pioneer of the Sarajevo underground music scene, influencing the generation of clubbers and clubbing culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the turn of the Millennium.

Visit of the techno-nomads like “Spiral Tribe”, “Desert Storm Sound System” and others to the post-war Sarajevo in mid-nineties left a big mark on him shifting his life focus and love to electronic music.

From the beginning he embraced the Drum Code, Primate, Cocoon, Plus 8, Devil’s Choice -alike Techno on vinyl which influenced his later style of music. In Sarajevo, his residence and party home base, he organized numerous events for the growing tech community and other music enthusiasts for almost a decade.

Involved in Sarajevo electronic music scene from its very beginning in 1996, Sub One started playing under the mentorship of famous Sarajevo DJ Enis Voloder and other members of the “Interactive Music Association” which included both Bosnian and English musicians. This is where he first met the turntables, learned skills and gained deep love for vinyls, synthesizers, drum machines, electronic music culture and started creating his first vinyl collection.

Extensive experience on dj booth, cooperation with local and foreign artists, promotional organisation “Positive Sound”, and successful events at incredible locations (including the devastated ‘Sarajka Mall’ – one of Sarajevo’s symbols from its socialist past); encouraged Sub One for deeper search of a unique sound signature and experiences for his performances.

Tight, harmonic and deep groove makes his style in studio production and mixes very recognisable, while the mystical and emotional atmospheres, tribal elements and hypnotic sound design are combined in creation of ever evolving Sub One music experience.
